I’m using Almalinux 9.4 with KDE. My machine is a Dell R6625 with dual Epyc processors with 32 cores each @2.75 GHz (basically this isn’t an issue with the machine running out of juice).
I often ssh into a second server of the same kind and open either a gnome-terminal or a konsole. If I do anything that uses a mouse click to do anything other than select a terminal on the remote side the whole system freezes for several seconds. So if I click on one of the menus on the remote terminal and choose a menu entry (e.g. open new window) it locks everything (including my local machine) for 15-30 seconds before the command completes. The same thing happens if I highlight a bit of text and use the right mouse button to choose copy, or try and paste something I copied.
This does not happen on a terminal or konsole on my local machine, only on the remote machine - the one that I have ssh’d into.
Also this problem started suddenly. It didn’t exist before, and I haven’t changed anything. In fact I haven’t even done an update.
