similar bug has been reported earlier in AlmaLinux 8 , so is this possible that it is a bug in alma 8 or rhel ?

this workaround is also resolving the error , and the crashdump is generated at the desired location with the usage of below mentioned command:
sudo sed -i ‘/^KDUMP_COMMANDLINE=/ { /auto/! s/“$/auto”/ }’ /etc/sysconfig/kdump && kdumpctl rebuild && kdumpctl restart
