Alma Linux 10 SSTP Client

Greetings, Everyone!

My name is Mikhail. I am new to these parts and to Alma Linux in particular. I hope my question is in the correct branch of the forum. If not please tell me where to move it and I will gladly do so. I have recently switched from Windows 11 to Alma Linux 10 on my personal laptop but have ran into a bit of a blag. In my infrastructure I rely on SSTP VPN for secure connection to my enterprise and home networks. There were clients for previous versions of Alma Linux but I can`t find anything for the latest version.

Are there currently any working SSTP VPN clients for latest version of Alma Linux 10?

I will appreciate any help on the matter.

Thank you everybody in advance!

Kings Regards

Mikhail

I checked on AlmaLinux 10, but there are currently no matching SSTP packages in the enabled repositories.

dnf list '*sstp*'
Error: No matching Packages to list

Fedora has SSTP-related packages such as sstp-client and NetworkManager-sstp, but they do not appear to be available for AlmaLinux 10 / EPEL 10 at this time.

So, at least from the standard AlmaLinux 10 repositories, there does not seem to be a currently available SSTP VPN client package.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I suspected that is the case since it is proprietary Microsoft technology. I tried to build it myself from sources but to no avail (it gave me a bunch of different errors). Hopefully it is in development, but from what I saw when I tried previous version of Alma Linux (8 and 9) that won`t be the case. Well Alma Linux 8 did not have wireless drivers for my laptop (so i did not check it there) and version 9 did not have sstp client either (it gave me the same error as you demonstrated above). For me personally it doesn`t really matter all that much since SSTP VPN was in my mind a stopgap solution before I do VLAN segmentation and deploy a some kind of domain controller because after that I am planning to switch to IKEv2/IPsec VPN with domain authentication on my MikroTik router that is currently running SSTP VPN server but will be switched to IKEv2/IPsec VPN sometime in near future and that VPN client is present by default in Alma Linux (version 10 at least, I wasn`t looking for them in previous versions of the OS).

Once again thank you for taking time out your busy day to help me with this matter! I appreciate it!
