Almalinux 10 - no google-authenticator

Hi!

I’m setting up my first VPS with Almalinux 10 and kindly ask for your help.

Trying to get 2FA with the ssh-connection Mr. Google always tell me to use the google-authenticator. Running Almalinux 10 it seems that there is no google-authenticator for it - at least dnf cannot find the package and I don’t know how many repositories I do have enabled, way too many in my eyes. Every instruction is written to be used with Almalinux 9 being the newest distro.

epel-releases is installed:

Package epel-release-10-6.el10_0.noarch is already installed.
Dependencies resolved.
Nothing to do.
Complete!

just no google-authenticator

No match for argument: google-authenticator
Error: Unable to find a match: google-authenticator

Where is it that I’m not getting what to do? Is it, that there is really no package for Almalinux 10? Any other way to get this done with Almalinux 10?

Kind regards,

Tom

Based on: google-authenticator - Fedora Packages

It looks like that package is int EPEL 10.1 but not 10. You can put in a request for it to be in EPEL 10 here: Requesting a new package in EPEL :: Fedora Docs
