AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2 Remi

It is very helpful that AlmaLinux has provided EPEL repository clone compatible with V2 variant of AlmaLinux 10. However, I experience it still isn’t convenient if we don’t have REMI Repository available.

Do you have any plans to include it in the near future?

If yes, it will be good for me to stick on AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2. If not, it’s better to get back to AlmaLinux 9.
It would be a good luck for all of us if we can get V2 compatible Remi at AlmaLinux 10 repository that we can install in the same way as EPEL:

dnf install remi-release

Hi @skrlance!
If you want to stay on AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2, you have two options:
1. Install it like this:
sudo dnf install https://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-10.rpm

2. Rebuild

sudo dnf install epel-release
sudo dnf install mock mock-core-configs rpmdevtools
mock -r alma+epel-10-x86_64_v2 --rebuild /path/on/src/packet.src.rpm ### CHANGE WITH 'U PATH LOCATION

All the best! :v:

If I do:
sudo dnf install https://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-10.rpm

The packages on Remi repository aren’t compatible with AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2.

While the second option seems to be better to try at local at first if we would have AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2 available for WSL.

AlmaLinux explicitly documents a WSL image for Kitten 10, not a separate AlmaLinux 10 Stable x86_64_v2 listing. If you specifically need AL10 x86_64_v2 on WSL, there isn’t an out-of-the-box image advertised yet

So, I have made my request here:

https://github.com/AlmaLinux/wsl-images/issues/63

Trying with WSL Rocky image this problem is not present

Similar to AlmaLinux 10, Rocky Linux 10 is like a clone of RHEL 10 that doesn’t support v2 CPUs that AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2 supports.
One of my VPS runs on V2 CPU where it doesn’t supports installation of any EL 10, but supports installation of AlmaLinux 10 x86_64_v2.
