Ansible recipe for AlmaLinux 9, full-disk LUKS encryption, RAID1 root (PhoenixNAP ramOS)

Hi all,

I’m setting up a new BMC (Bare Metal Cloud) server on PhoenixNAP using their Custom OS “ramOS” workflow, which relies on Ansible for fully automated installs.

The reason for this is we’re setting this server up to be a HIPAA compliant server and so need full disk encryption at install (LUKS). We want to install AlmaLinux as we will be installing CloudLinux over that.

They cannot mount a virtual device (AlmaLinus ISO) to the BMC deployments so I’m left with using an Ansible recipe for the task.

Has anyone done this or have any guidance on this situation?

We decided to go the full manual method. Using the Ram OS to do all the install steps. Haven’t been successful yet but we’re making progress.
