Battery symbol doesn't show charging status

When I put my charging cable into a plug, then remove it, then plug it in again, I still get the wrong symbol:
wrong-battery-symbol

Only when I reboot, it is replaced with the correct symbol. (As “new user” I can only upload one picture. I hope you know how a charging symbol looks like.)

I assume this is not the right place to report this. Can someone help me to get to the right place?
I assume there’s an event listener commented out or something.

Investigated further.

$ upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0 | grep state
    state:               charging

$ upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT1 | grep state
    state:               pending-charge

$ upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/DisplayDevice | grep state
    state:               charging

The symbol in the bar is probably showing the wrong battery.
