I’m having an issue with dnf upgrade. It’s failing to download any packages from the AppStream remote repository, despite trying many mirrors.
I’ve tested both these configurations for appstream.repo:
[appstream]
name=AlmaLinux $releasever - AppStream
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.almalinux.org/mirrorlist/$releasever/appstream
# baseurl=https://repo.almalinux.org/almalinux/$releasever/AppStream/$basearch/os/
and this one, and I also cleaned the cache:
[appstream]
name=AlmaLinux $releasever - AppStream
#mirrorlist=https://mirrors.almalinux.org/mirrorlist/$releasever/appstream
baseurl=https://repo.almalinux.org/almalinux/$releasever/AppStream/$basearch/os/
I’m consistently getting a 404 error, for example:
[MIRROR] gcc-8.5.0-26.el8_10.alma.1.ppc64le.rpm: Status code: 404 for https://repo.almalinux.org/almalinux/8.10/AppStream/ppc64le/os/Packages/g/gcc-8.5.0-26.el8_10.alma.1.ppc64le.rpm (IP: […])`
I’ve noticed that the packages are available, but with a different URL. It seems the repository’s XML metadata contains a non-existent subfolder (the first letter of the package name), leading to an incorrect URL.
For instance:
- Wrong URL (from
dnf): https://repo.almalinux.org/almalinux/8.10/AppStream/ppc64le/os/Packages/g/gcc-8.5.0-26.el8_10.alma.1.ppc64le.rpm - Correct URL (where the package actually is):
https://repo.almalinux.org/almalinux/8.10/AppStream/ppc64le/os/Packages/gcc-8.5.0-26.el8_10.alma.1.ppc64le.rpm"
what can I do?
Thanks
Marco
