How to install ALMA-9 and later with GUI?

I have been working with ALMALinux 9.x since February. I struggled until August to figure out how to get things to work.

As a point of interest, I have been trying to install ALMALinux-9.x only into Oracle VBoxes.

I only see a text menu to interact with? Is this just my limited experience or is the problem the way I have configured the VBox as a virtual chassis?

My intent is to install ALMALinux-9 and try to learn and work with LUKS, as a result of possibly installing ALMALinux-9.x with GUI interaction.

Thanks.

I finally found my problem. The issue was installing ALMALinux-9.x in an Oracle Vbox machine with the video controller being set to the type= “VboxSVGA.”

So silly.

Just to clarify. Is the “VboxSVGA” the setting that does work or does not work?

Overall, the various hypervisors (Vbox, VMware, …) can have defaults (e.g. video, network, exposed CPU features) that are not “optimal” for all guest OS.

VboxSVGA is the one that does not work. It prevents Installer GUI from presenting.
