Leapp in 8.8: The installed OS version is not supported for the in-place upgrade

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade Alma 8.8 to 9 using the Leapp tool. However, when I run the “leapp preupgrade” check, there is this error: “The installed OS version is not supported for the in-place upgrade to the target RHEL version. Consult the pre-upgrade report for details and possible remediation.”

The report says that the supported OS releases for the upgrade process are, among others, ALMALINUX 8.6 and 8.7, but not 8.8. Should I wait until Leapp officially supports 8.8, or is it safe to ignore this and go ahead with the upgrade? Thank you very much.
