Since those updates, I’ve occasionally had trouble logging in at the login screen. And switching between two users stopped working entirely. When I used “switch user,” the currently logged-in user would be logged out when the other user logged in. It was extremely annoying. After extensive troubleshooting and long “conversations” with ChatGPT and Claude, it turned out that the issue was caused by the two updates to GDM and mutter.
After downgrading the packages, logging in and switching users are working as usual again.
sudo dnf downgrade gdm mutter -y

Just sharing this in case anyone else runs into this problem and is just as annoyed by it as I was. 
Has anyone else had problems with these package versions? A friend of mine uses RockyLinux and, as far as I can tell, has exactly the same package versions. Yet he hasn’t had any problems.
Last question: how can I “pin” these versions so they aren’t installed again for the time being?

P.S. As a test, I also installed AlmaLinux 10.2 directly from the ISO on an old Lenovo laptop. After applying the patches, I encountered exactly the same issues on that new installation as well, and they were resolved by downgrading.
But it’s better than nothing.
