Not putting this in Support because I know how to fix it (downgrade), but is anybody else having trouble booting with microcode_ctl 20240910-1.20250211.1.el9_5 installed, maybe on something like an Intel Xeon Platinum 8462Y+ (Sapphire Rapids)?
Resolution came via a BIOS update (from “R08” to “R15”), in case that matters to anyone in the future. (Hi!)
Had this problem again, with microcode_ctl-20250812-1.20251111.1.el9_7.noarch. These are Gigabyte H263-S64-AAW1. Solution was again to update the BIOS, this time to version “R20.”
I must’ve jinxed myself by imagining this was going to be a nice easy CPU cluster w/o weird driver issues.
