Rsync.repo.almalinux.org not accessible over IPv4

As in title really:

vesemir:~> fping -c5 -q -4 rsync.repo.almalinux.org
rsync.repo.almalinux.org : xmt/rcv/%loss = 5/0/100%
vesemir:~> fping -c5 -q -6 rsync.repo.almalinux.org
rsync.repo.almalinux.org : xmt/rcv/%loss = 5/5/0%, min/avg/max = 122/129/137

This above is tested from 91.232.49.216 / 2a06:a005:1991:3000:94cb:2ef5:6321:e82f.

Interestingly I see the same problem on my two VPSes located in Europe. When I test from the VPS in US or Australia, IPv4 works but I see different IP addresses are returned by DNS:

  • Europe: 91.134.76.173
  • US: 162.255.95.162
  • Australia: 162.43.206.5

All fixed now. The EU rsync mirror has suffered a hardware failure so I’ve pulled it out of rotation until we can get it back online.
