Upgrade from Alma Linux 9 to Alma Linux 10 via 'leap upgrade' in LXC-Container. Is this possible?

Hi there!

I’ve set up an Alma Linux 9 LXC-Container on my Proxmox-Host and I wanna upgrade it via ‘leap upgrade’ (as it’s discribed here )…

When I try an 'leap upgrade inside my LXC-Container I get the following error:

[root@nfs-server ~]# leapp upgrade

====> * vendor_repositories_mapping

Is there a possibility to Upgrade from Alma Linux 9 to Alma Linux 10?

Hello.

In conclusion, containers (such as LXC) are likely excluded from leapp upgrades.
Errors related to /boot and grub are evidence of this.
Furthermore, containers are not mentioned in the Wiki.

As a workaround, I recommend either creating your own LXC image or waiting for an official image to be released.

@maze-m

Image server for Incus and LXC
Almalinux 10 is now available.
https://images.linuxcontainers.org/

Leap upgrade is not available. However, the Almalinux10 image has been officially distributed.
Why not try transferring the contents of your server to Almalinux10?
