Upgrading ALMA from 8 to 9 via "leapp" stopt while loading Elevate-Upgrade-Initramfs

Hello ,
I’ am rookie in writing issues like that so I try to give as much infos than I have.

So i just updated a centos8 to almalinux via almalinux-deploy.sh. Now I on AlmaLinux 8.10 (Cerulean Leopard).

i’v installed an started the leap preupgrade changed the nessecary things in selinux and run the “upgrade” command afterwards.

Now the reboot start the initfs kernel Elevate-Upgrade-Initramfs but jumpst in the emergency mode afert “udev Kernel Socket”

then it checks the scsi ports and just stops after end_device_0:0:12 without doing anything then. I the middle of the console it also says : “set ignore_delay_remove for handle” especiallay by the HITACHI HDDs . This is the only output which seem to relay to the problem. After reboot an load kernel 4,18,0-553 the server started without problem.

So I’m stuck if the problem is the Hardware (which is pretty old) or the new loaded kernel.

Edit: I was nor able to grep the rdsosreport.txt and here is a screenshoot with an error. Maybe some can explain what to do …

Can anyone help me?
thanks in advance.
Thomas

Hello,

after more troubleshooting i come to the conclusion that the problem have something to do that the system was partitioned with xfs and/or multipath. Why? Can’t tell. I’ve got a new rdsosreport.txt which have following lines:

[ 12.138868] localhost upgrade[1216]: mount: /cluster: special device /dev/vg-donkey/cluster does not exist.

Does anyone can give me a hint. How I can solve it? “I would be deeply indebted to whoever could offer their help.”
